With House of the Dragon supposed to be a prequel to Game of Thrones. It is very hard to believe that the directors and writers would have made the mistake of making it a semi live action rip-off of Shrek.
Inspiration is always being taken from somewhere, but this
is kind of ridiculous.
Both Shrek and House of the Dragon is set in a medieval like era, and are bound to have some characteristics overlapping. So that might explain the bizarre thoughts everyone is having, but if you look at the themes, plot lines, colour schemes etc, you will find it hard to believe that it is more than just an era overlapping.
Exact scenes from Shrek are being mimicked in House of the
Dragon from dragons flying and a family fight in the middle of a feast, etc,
seems more than just a coincidence. Videos comparing scenes from both House of
the Dragon and Shrek have been made by multiple people and are being put on
social media.
As always there is going to be a divide between people. Some will love the fact that they can watch this live action of Shrek, some will hate it and some might never even notice these similarities.

House of the Dragon is based off of “A Song of Fire Ice”
novels by George R. R. Martin, more specifically the novella Fire and Ice.
Whether inspiration has been taken from Shrek or it is pure coincidence no one
will know. But getting to see the comparisons are comical to say the least.
